Big Brothers Big Sisters in Woodstock has received a generous donation from Archer Daniels Midland Company.
WOODSTOCK - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Woodstock and District is sending out a big thank you after getting a generous donation.
Caseworker and Fundraising and Information Coordinator Kristen Ralph says they are thrilled with the latest donation. "ADM is a company and they do have a local office and actually one of our volunteers put up our name to be part of this ADM Cares Social Investment Program. So she offered out organization as a potential done and we did receive funding in the amount of $1,500."
The money from Archer Daniels Midland Company will be going to help Big Brothers Big Sisters of Woodstock and District as they continue to match kids in our community up with responsible mentors according to Ralph. "The funding will be used for our mentoring programs so it will go directly to providing responsible adult mentors for children in our agency."
Ralph says this community is very giving and they are so happy for all the support they have received over the years. "We get no government funding - or no ongoing government funding I should say. So we really have to work hard to make sure we can raise the money to support the children in Woodstock and District."
