Woodstock Mayor Jerry Acchione delivered meals to local residents supported by the Meals on Wheels program yesterday.
OXFORD - VON Oxford is shining a light on its Meals on Wheels program once again.
The 15th annual March for Meals campaign is officially underway.
The Meals on Wheels program delivers over 3 million meals annually to close to 70,000 Ontarians, spread out across 181 communities across the province. Here in Oxford County, 13,743 meals were served to over 300 people last year alone.
VON says this program provides more than just food to its clients. It also offers social connection and makes sure someone is checking in on their overall safety.
Woodstock Mayor Jerry Acchione delivered some of those meals to local residents yesterday, showing his support for the program that have been serving Oxford County for 45 years.
