WOODSTOCK - The City of Woodstock is offering three different programs for kids next week.
Parents have until tomorrow to sign their kids up for the Home Alone Safety course, the My Safe Life program or Babysitter Training.
Supervisor of Recreation Programs and Sponsorship Jason Jolicoeur says all of the programs will be virtual.
"We would be doing these in person, but because of COVID they've moved them online for now. It is instructor lead and the program is run through SOS 4 Kids and they have certified and experienced instructors conducting the classes."
Jolicoeur says the Home Alone Safety course is one of their more popular programs and it's for kids in the 9 to 10 age range.
"It teaches them how to do that safely; what to look out for, what not to do and what to do when you're home alone. It also talks about walking home from school and you should follow the same route every single day. All of the safety tips kids should know before they stay home alone."
The Home Alone Safety course, the My Safe Life program or Babysitter Training each offer their own certification and parents can sign their kids up online here. The registration fee costs $60 for each program.
