The Woodstock Police Service and the Board have appointed a new Deputy Chief.
WOODSTOCK - A new Deputy Chief has been named for the Woodstock Police.
Inspector Jamie Taylor has been appointed to the role, which will be effective as of April this year. The appointment came after an extensive process, which included both internal and external candidates. Inspector Taylor is in his 25th year of policing and joined the Woodstock Police in 2023. He has served in multiple positions, including Sergeant in the Street Crime Unit/Drugs and Intelligence, acting as Tactical Commander of the Emergency Response Unit, and serving as a Staff Sergeant in Uniform Patrol. Inspector Taylor is excited for the new role.
“I’ve been fortunate to learn from exceptional mentors and leaders throughout my career, and I am truly honoured to step into the role of Deputy Chief. This opportunity is made possible by the dedication of our sworn and civilian members and the trust of our community partners I’ve worked closely with over the past three years.”
The Police Board is looking forward to seeing Inspector Taylor continue his contributions to the WPS, along with the community, as he steps into his new position.
