Workplace stress can be difficult to manage but CMHA Oxford has some helpful tips.
OXFORD COUNTY - Managing stress in the workplace can be difficult and the Canadian Mental Health Association of Oxford County wants you to know about some of the resources available.
Team leader with the mobile crisis and outreach Katherine Studiman says, “some of the early symptoms of stress include feeling really fatigued and run off your feet, your running from one task to another and never really completing anything. You may find that you are more irritable with your colleagues or feeling like you just can't get everything done and just feeling like you have to start everything all at once but you can't seem to finish anything."
She adds some things you can do at work to calm yourself is to take a deep breath, make sure you take regular breaks away from your desk and when your on break don't talk about the job. Also it's important to eat a healthy lunch and maybe go outside for a walk during your lunch break. The CMHA of Oxford has a 24 hour stress line you can call at any time and you can also visit them at their office on Peel Street to speak with a crisis worker.
You can call the CMHA Oxford crisis line anytime toll free at 1-877-339-8342 and it doesn't have to be an emergency you can call even if you just need some help calming down.
