The Kiwanis Club of Ingersoll is still looking for donations of winter clothing to help those in need this winter season.
INGERSOLL - The Kiwanis Club of Ingersoll is back with their Coats for Families campaign.
Winter clothing is being accepted at many places in Ingersoll to help make sure everyone has something warm to wear when the winter weather comes. Member, Brad Hammond gives some history of the campaign.
"I think the campaign originally started as Coats for Kids, and we realized quickly it applied to everyone in the family, so now it is called Coats for Families. So, we are obviously looking for winter coats, snow pants, hats and mitts."
Hammond says the donations have been slower to start the campaign, and he thinks that is because of the current warmer weather that has graced Oxford County. He adds the donations have to meet a certain standard.
"We are looking for gently used coats. So, if the zipper is broken on it or it has a big tear in it, we just don't have the ability or time to manage those repairs."
Donations can be dropped off at Trinity United Church Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
