OTTERVILLE - The birthday celebrations for Canada will be in full force.
Otterville will be hosting the Canada Day celebration for Norwich Township on Tuesday July 1st. Chair of the event, Loralee Heemskerk explains how the day will begin.
"At 1:00 p.m., we will be having a parade running from Main Street west at Cherry St, all the way through town to York Street. We have a great float entry lineup this year."
There will be local business, service clubs, the farming community, the London Shriners Mocah Love Bugs, and furry animals in the parade this year. Heemskerk talks about the Cub Car Races that will also be taking place.
"Children between the ages of 3 and 13 can pick up their cub car kit at Otterville Motors."
The Cub Car Races begin at 3 p.m. and take place in the park. The schedule for the day also includes a classic car show, a pie baking contest, the Historical Society Chicken BBW and the Norwich-Otterville minor ball game.
The night will end with a fireworks display, which will get underway at dusk and last about 30 minutes.
