The man who defended Michael Rafferty in the Tori Stafford murder trial is handling another high-profile case in Toronto. Dirk Derstine was formally engaged as the new lawyer for 23 year-old Christopher Husbands, the man who allegedly opened fire in the food court at the Toronto Eaton Centre on June 2nd. Husbands appeared in court Wednesday with Derstine as his representation. The accused has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, five counts of attempted murder and one of criminal negligence causing bodily harm.
