The club would use the $25,000 grant to replace the ice pad refrigeration piping.
NORWICH - The Norwich District Curling Club (NDCC) may be receiving a $25,000 cheque!
It's the BASF growing home grant, the curling club is one of three Ontario finalists. President David Janssens says they money would go towards a big project they're working on.
"Replacement of our ice pad refrigeration piping. The piping is 57 years old and as a result, were going to remove it and replace it with newer state of the art piping that will be more energy efficient."
If the club receives the grant money, Janssens says it would have huge impact.
"It would help us tremendously, it could be the difference between us taking a loan out and not taking one out"
Janssen says it wasn't easy getting to the final stages of this process, as they had a ton of other nominees that applied for this grant as well.
"We were amongst about 150 nominees, and we got to the final three. At that point it becomes a vote across Canada"
The deadline for voting is April 17th with the other two Ontario finalists are First Beamsville Scouting & Petrolia Community Refrigerator. You can cast your vote online here.
