Expect it if you filed your 2023 taxes before March 15th
CANADA - Canadians will soon be able to spot the 2024 Canada Carbon Rebate in their bank accounts.
Those living in Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and the Atlantic Provinces will receive their first installment today if they filed their 2023 taxes before March 15th. Those who filed after that date will have their money deposited on May 15th, and those who file after today will get their money in June or July.
There will be four installments and the rebate is supposed to offset the cost of carbon pricing when Canadians fuel up at the gas pumps.
The payments are also based on your household size and where you live. A family of four would get $190 if they lived in New Brunswick, but they would receive $450 if they lived in Alberta. You can find out how much money you should receive online here.
