Frigid weather will likely lead to smaller gathering at Port Dover
While the thoughts of riding a motorcycle on a day like today may not appeal to everyone, chances are Port Dover will still get some bikers as it is Friday the 13th.
There are some die hard bikers that will not stay away from the tradition, no matter the weather conditions.
While attendance isn't expected to be near what it would be in the spring or summer months, Norfolk OPP Constable Ed Sanchuk says the Festive Ride Program will be out in full force. "Anyone that's coming to Port Dover will want to make sure they have a plan in place to stay overnight, or take a limousine, or some other form of transportation. We don't want to see anyone drinking and driving because not only are you going to save your own life, your going to save those innocent lives that are travelling on the roadways."
Sanchuk says there may be an increase of motorcycle traffic and with possible slick and snow covered roads, everyone needs to take their time. "Anytime you see snow, we want you to go slow."
