Competitors from all over southwestern Ontario will be taking to the waters of Pittock on Saturday. According to local Rotarian and Festival Committee member Dave Harris, the 15th Annual Caressant Care Woodstock Rotary Dragon Boat Festival will be a full day of competitive racing, "this year we're really excited, we've got 48 teams booked. That's a full festival for us; that's the second year in a row we've sold out, so we're really gaining popularity with a lot of the paddlers. We've got teams from all over southwestern Ontario. We've got probably seven local teams, four of those have been developed through our fun league and we draw all kinds of competitive teams out of the Greater Toronto area and we get some from the London area and Stratford as well". The festival races begin at 9 a.m. and the event is open to the public. Spectators will have to pay the general admission fees into Pittock Conversation Area which is $10 for a car load or $5 for one person. Funds raised through the festival are used both locally and internationally. Last year, the event raised roughly $22,000.
