A local athlete is hoping the community will support him at a fundraising BBQ today. The Thompson family of Woodstock is hosting a BBQ at Zehrs grocery store from 11 till 6. They're raising money for 21-year-old cross country skier Bob Thompson, who is looking for funding to attend a training trip to the Haig Glacier in northern Canada. Thompson has been racing at the national level for 8-years. Earlier this year, he was denied funding from the city's Community Grants because he's over 18-years-old.
