Things are looking good for Oxford County's finances; with an AA+ credit rating.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County has an AA+ credit rating with a stable outlook.
Director of Corporate Services Lynne Buchner says this is great news.
"We're very high rated in terms of our municipal peers and it actually allows us to borrow money at cheaper rates and invest in higher level return investment vehicles."
The county has been able to maintain this AA+ credit rating for the past three years now. Buchner says this they can't see this changing anytime soon.
"They feel that due to our robust budgetary performance and our position of equity and our low debt we have the potential of maintaining that over the next foreseeable future."
Oxford only had an A+ rating about 16 years ago.
