A bylaw that would prevent the sale and discharge of consumer fireworks is in the works for the City of Woodstock. Are you for or against this?
WOODSTOCK - A new fireworks bylaw is in the works for the City of Woodstock.
During the July 13th City Council meeting, council directed staff to create a bylaw that would ban the sale and discharge of consumer fireworks. Once it's created, the bylaw will be added to a future City Council agenda for final approval. Once passed, the bylaw would not affect fireworks displays hosted by the municipality.
Woodstock resident Cody Zimmer has created an online petition against the creation of this bylaw. It had over 220 signatures as of 8:00 a.m. today.
