During last night's meeting, Woodstock City Council voted in favour of creating a bylaw that would ban the sale and discharge of consumer fireworks.
WOODSTOCK - You soon won't be able to buy or set off your own fireworks in the Friendly City
Woodstock City Council has voted in favour of creating a bylaw which would ban the sale and discharge of consumer fireworks. This means once this bylaw is created and passed by council, the only way you will be able to watch fireworks in Woodstock would be if you're going to one of the public displays put on by the city.
Woodstock's bylaw department received 50 fireworks related complaints last year and it has already received 31 complaints so far in 2023. As of right now, you're only allowed to buy and discharge fireworks for Canada Day, Victoria Day and Diwali.
