Miller is a mixed breed at the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society and is just over 2 years old.
WATERLOO & STRATFORD - The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth is marking a milestone for a dog reaching one full year in shelter care.
Miller arrived as a stray last year and has yet to find a permanent home despite the organization's length of stay typically being 30 days. Miller is a large mixed breed currently at the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society.
This past year, Miller has received ongoing training & behavioural support to help him thrive. He is staying stimulated and engaged through daily exercises, socialization, and structured routines. However, extended shelter stays can have negative impacts on an animal's well-being.
He is a high energy dog who would do best in a detatched home setting, he can be vocal when left alone or when excited. He is best suited to a home with older children/young adults as he is still working on his manners. Due to a high prey drive, Miller cannot be placed in a home with cats or other smaller animals, he may be compatible with other large dogs who share a similar high energy play style.
Although Miller still has some things he needs to learn, he has shown a strong potential to bond with people. Once he is comfortable, he is very social and seeks companionship with his caregivers. He enjoys spending time outside whether it's going for long walks, playing with other dogs, or just relaxing in the sunshine. For more information about Miller click here.
