The fight against a possible landfill in Beachville is getting some backing from a high-profile Canadian artist. Juno-nominated Folk musician Craig Cardiff (photo right) will be playing a free concert in Downtown Ingersoll Friday night. Cardiff will be playing a 90-minute show, along with a message from OPAL - Oxford People Against the Landfill. One of the organizers, Karen Paton-Evans tells Heart FM that Cardiff supports their cause. "This is a person who is concerned about the world that we live in. So he's a great person to be able to help spread the message that we need to be very careful of any proposal to bring a dump, especially a mega-dump, into Oxford County." The show starts at 7:30, and will also include a waste-prevention theme. People are being encouraged to re-fill water bottles and coffee cups to divert waste from existing landfills.
