INGERSOLL - The Kiwanis Club of Ingersoll is hosting a Dine and Donate for COVID-19.
The fundraiser is based off of their popular rural urban dinner, a buffet-style dinner that draws over 400 people.
Director Sam Horton says there will be eight restaurants participating.
"So the way it works is that we have $20.00 tickets. $10.00 of each ticket goes directly to Kiwanis, the other $10.00 is a voucher that's attached to the ticket. This voucher has a value of $10.00."
He says the customer may use the voucher at any one of the eight restaurants and then the Kiwanis Club will reimburse that restaurant $10.00 for each voucher they return to the club. You will receive a $10.00 tax receipt as well.
Horton says this is so none of the restaurants lose out on any money. He adds there will be takeout, curbside and you will also be allowed to sit inside and eat. Among the restaurants that will be participating include the Elm Hurst and Chuck's Roadhouse.
The Kiwanis Club also received a grant from Community Futures Oxford for this fundraiser and it was put towards marketing and advertising.
Horton says it is very satisfying to see the community come together during this time.
"We have a very dedicated team with the Kiwanis Club of Ingersoll that do some amazing work with the town of Ingersoll with our children, marginalizes people, people in need. And when we're able to help our restaurants through this program, not only does it help our restaurants, but it also helps the people of Ingersoll."
He says they're hoping to sell 2,000 tickets and raise $18,000 from this initiative.
You can buy a ticket from any member from the Kiwanis Club of Ingersoll or you can call 519-859-5097. You can also get in touch with them through email at info@kiwanisingersoll.com or you can message them on Facebook or Instagram.
And when you use three coupons at three different locations, you will be entered into a draw. The first prize is $500.00 in BIA Bucks and the second prize is a Blue Topaz Pendant from Lesser Jewellers.
The fundraiser started on October 1st and goes until November 30th.
