Oxford County will launch its Large Item Collection program in Ingersoll on Monday April 3rd.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County is kicking off its Large Item Collection program.
The county offers the service once a year in order to ensure large items are disposed of in the correct place.
Items that can be left during collections periods include household furniture, Carpet rolls & under padding, pool filters & pool covers, water softeners, and mattresses & box springs. The county wants to remind everyone to empty all filters and softeners beforehand.
Pam Antonio, Supervisor of Waste Management, wants residents to know although the county will be out for large collection, it's not to be used as a spring cleaning program.
"It's important that residents understand that garbage bags, scrap metals, and such will not be taken by the large item collection contractors. This is intended for your one-offs."
The City of Woodstock offers other services available for items that aren't accepted during this period. You can find more information online here.
