Oxford County Paramedic Services is handing out teddy bears all week to kids in Woodstock, Tillsonburg and Ingersoll.
Paramedics will be stationed at the Wal-Mart in Woodstock today until 6 p.m and then again from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday. They will also be at the Tillsonburg Town Centre on Tuesday and at the Independent Grocery Store in Ingersoll on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oxford County Paramedic Services field supervisor Kim Moore says once they give the child the teddy they then invite them inside the ambulance for a teddy bear check up. " With the bears we are checking their heart rates and telling the kids about the human body and how arms and legs move and what we look at as paramedics." She adds kids who stop by will get a teddy bear and a chance to see some of the equipment paramedics use and a chance to see the inside of ambulance along a chance to meet some of their local paramedics.
This is just one initiative Oxford County Paramedic Services is doing to honour Paramedics week. On Saturday they introduced the new Mill Street station to the public with an Open House.
