A local producer will be featured at TIFF not once, but twice this year. John Nadalin, President of The NE Creative Group worked on two different short films that are both being played at the Toronto International Film Festival which kicked off last Thursday. The first film is "100 Musicians", which Nadalin says is a relationship piece that dives into politics and social economics with some big messages. He worked as the Producer on this piece and as the Executive Producer on "MODEL". He says this second film is unique in that there is no dialogue but instead it is driven by the score. The film explores architecture, engineering and design. Nadalin, a graduate of CASS in Woodstock says having two films at this year's festival is an honour for them, "short films don't have a great exposure, you might see it on broadcast briefly but there's not really a home for them outside of the festival market, so obviously the biggest and closest to home festival is TIFF and that's always the hope that you can screen there". He says they are very excited to be featured at the prestigious event. "You have your home town crowd, your friends and family, and all the cast and crew are able to be there. And it's arguable one of the biggest festivals in the world so there's cache to say that we are screening there. All and all, everyone involved was really thrilled". Some of his other accomplishments include hardware from the MuchMusic Video Awards, East Coast Music Awards and a number of other film festivals. Nadalin is currently working on a full length film called "Molly Maxwell" which should be released some time next year.
