Premier Doug Ford's office confirms a man was arrested outside Ford's home last night.
A spokesperson within the Premier's office says the man was holding a "large butcher's knife" and yelling threats outside Ford's home in Etobicoke.
"An OPP officer was on site and arrested the man immediately. the Premier thanks the officer for his quick action and bravery, which resulted in no harm to anyone involved in the incident.”
During the pandemic, the Premier's street has seen numerous protests from demonstrators opposed to COVID-19 precautions.
Several politicians, including NDP leader Andrea Horwath and Ontario Liberal Party leader Steven Del Duca took to Twitter to condemn the incident.
