WOODSTOCK - A new steering committee has been formed to look at youth suicide.
WOODSTOCK - The newly formed Suicide Prevention Oxford Leadership Coalition has created a steering committee led by the Woodstock Hospital.
They will work to plan and implement a comprehensive community needs assessment.
A number of community partners are involved.
They include the Oxford Elgin Child & Youth Centre; Oxford County Canadian Mental Health Association; Woodstock & Area Community Health Centre; Oxford Children’s Aid Society; Thames Valley District School Board; London District Catholic School Board; Conseil Scolaire Catholique Providence; Oxford County Public Health Unit; two youth representatives and a parent representative.
The committee will be working together over the next couple of months to determine the mental health and well-being needs of youth and families in Woodstock.
