A new system in Woodstock will help measure the effects of heat on human health. It's called the Environmental Heat Monitoring System and is located on the Oxford County Administration Building roof. "What we're trying to do is collect information that will help inform our programs and services that we offer here at Oxford County Public Health and hopefully through that information we can develop programs that will help people make informed decisions about what they should do during heat related events," said the Program Supervisor of Health Protection Peter Heywood. Health Canada has fully funded the project. There are four other municipalities across Canada participating in this project. They range from larger cities to smaller urban-rural areas.
