The Township of Norwich Fire Service has purchased nine tablets thanks to a $9,000 grant from the Farm Credit Canada AgriSpirit Fund.
NORWICH TOWNSHIP - The Norwich Township Fire Service is putting a $9,000 grant to good use.
Director Derek VanPagee says they have purchased nine tablets, one for each fire apparatus. The new technology will help with data recording, live mapping, pre-incident planning, personnel response and hazardous material response.
VanPagee adds the new technology will help with data recording, live mapping, pre-incident planning, personnel response and hazardous material response.
“The new tablets will reduce the reliance on paperwork and move the fire service into an age where technology can enhance firefighter response to incidents and assist in the flow of data. We are grateful to Farm Credit Canada because funds like this are a fantastic opportunity for rural volunteer fire departments to purchase cutting edge equipment.”
The tablets are currently being tested and installed and they should be fully operational by the end of the year.
The grant came from the Farm Credit Canada AgriSpririt Fund for 2022.
