The Friendly City has received their third quarter payment from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
WOODSTOCK - The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has handed over another cheque to the City of Woodstock.
They presented the Friendly City with $366,408 in non tax gaming revenue for their third quarter payment. OLG pays Woodstock every quarter for hosting the OLG Slots at Woodstock Raceway.
"OLG provides host municipalities with significant funds every year to help communities invest in local programs, services and infrastructure projects such as community centres which benefits families," said Charles Sousa, Ontario’s Minister of Finance. "These funds directly support key public services like health care and education while strengthening the local economy."
Since 2001, Woodstock has received more than $15.9 million in non-tax gaming revenue. That money is put back into the city through community grants. For example the Woodstock General Hospital has received contributions from the slots.
