Kids in Oxford County will be rewarded for doing good deeds this summer from the local OPP.
Kids in Oxford County will want to get pulled over the police this summer.
Oxford OPP are once again participating in Operation Freeze. When they catch kids showcasing positive behaviour in the community this summer they will present them with a coupon for a free Froster from Mac's Convienance. Constable Stacey Culbert tells Heart FM they handed out a lot of these tickets in Oxford last summer.
"So in driving around in the community when the school was out, we saw a couple of kids get to a crosswalk, they didn't know we were in the area and they got off their bikes and walked across the street safely. We had a couple of kids who came to the detachment, they had been playing at a park near one of our busier roadways and they found a license plate, so they walked over to the police station and they turned it in. Kids that are out there on a hot sunny day that are delivering newspapers or something like that we stop them, tell them what a great job they are doing and hand them a ticket for a nice cold refreshing drink."
Last summer the OPP handed out over 27,500 Operation Freeze tickets throughout the province.
