Two local PJHL games were postponed on Friday due to the snowy conditions.
PJHL - It was an interesting start to the weekend for Oxford County's Junior C hockey teams.
The Woodstock Navy Vets were supposed to host the Tavistock Braves in their first home game of 2024 on Friday night, but the game was postponed due to the weather. It was also the Vets only game scheduled for the weekend.
The Norwich Merchants also had to postpone their home game against the Hespeler Shamrocks on Friday due to the snowy conditions.
The Thamesford Trojans were able to play the Petrolia Flyers in the Yeck Divison on Friday, and Thamesford celebrated a 4-1 win.
Looking at the rest of the weekend, the Merchants narrowly beat the Paris Titans 3-1 in overtime on Saturday, while the Braves slipped past the Shamrocks 4-3 yesterday and the Trojans crushed the Aylmer Spitfires 6-1 yesterday.
The Navy Vets remain on top of the Doherty Division standings with 48 points. The Braves are sitting in third place with 34 points, and they're followed by the Merchants with 32 points.
The Trojans are in fourth place in the Yeck Division standings with 43 points.
