No one was hurt when a man with a gun tried to rob the Around the Corner Variety Store in Tillsonburg
TILLSONBURG - No one was hurt during an armed robbery in Tillsonburg.
On Friday January 22 shortly after 9:20 p.m. the Oxford OPP were called out to an armed robbery at the Around the Corner Variety Store on Bidwell Street.
Through investigation the police determined that a man entered the store and approached the lone woman working. The suspect then threatened the employee with a handgun while demanding cash. The woman fled the store and was quickly followed by the suspect who also left the building.
The man was last seen on foot running southbound on Bidwell Street.
Nothing was taken during the robbery.
Police describe the suspect as a white man, possibly in his early 20s, between 5' 6" - 5' 8", with a slim or medium build. At the time he was wearing a black hoodie style sweatshirt, black gloves, blue jeans, dark coloured shoes, and a red and black bandana covered his face.
