It's sure to be a night of delicious fish, dancing, and winning as Woodstock-Oxford Rotary hosts the 35th Annual Fish Fry
For many people a sure sign of spring is the return of the Woodstock-Oxford Rotary Fish Fry.
It's taking place Saturday April 16 at the Oxford Auditorium.
Rotary Member Doug Vincent says they are happy to be hosting another night full of dancing and delicious fish.
"We're so pleased that over all these 35 years, Knechtels Catering of Port Dover have been the people supplying the fish. They've got an excellent reputation in the area and we always depend on them to put on a first class meal with the fish and a large salad bar."
Vincent says they will also be able to cater to a large variety of tastes not just during dinner, but on the dance floor as well.
"This year we have a disk jockey filling in those breaks between the sets so it will be non-stop dance music from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. We have a large variety of demographics that come to this event and age groups so those who want different types of music have the opportunity to dance with the live music and also request music from the DJ."
The midnight draw for a trip to Cuba is also back this year.
Communications and Fund Development at Woodstock and District Developmental Services Kathy Deweerd says something new is also happening:
"We also have a new initiative: WDDS has always had a huge auction there, and we've pared it down - and by that I mean just down to a hundred items which is still a lot to choose from - but we're doing a chance to purchase a key and open a door. We have three fantastic prizes that are valued at $1, 000 each."
Tickets are $40 each and can be purchased by calling Peter Stam at 519-532-2181, Marj Gibbons at 519-536-9555, WDDS at 519-539-7447 ext 244 or emailing rotary.fishfry@gmail.com
