The Social Planning Council Oxford is asking County Council for funding to help with their operations.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Social Planning Council is getting ready for 2017. Representatives from the council attended an Oxford County Council meeting recently to request financial help for next year.
Executive Director Ashley Farrar tells Heart FM the council has requested $55,000 dollars to help with their core operations.
"All of our work happens because we have those core dollars and we also receive in kind donations from local agencies that also support our core operations."
The Social Planning Council is a small organization mostly based on volunteers and acts as a voice for community members.
Farrar says the council also forms collaborative community spaces.
"Our goal is to create spaces where everyone is equal regardless of what your background is, what your income level is, and then to have these different perspectives brought together to create solutions."
The Social Planning Council has been receiving funding help from the county since 2014.
