Southwestern Public Health Has Tested 254 People for COVID-19

Southwestern Public Health has confirmed a fifth case of COVID-19. The fifth case is a man in his 70's from Elgin County who is currently in the hospital.

OXFORD COUNTY/ELGIN COUNTY/ST.THOMAS - You can track all of the confirmed COVID-19 cases in our region online through Southwestern Public Health.

We currently have four confirmed cases in our region. Three from Elgin County and one from Oxford. Two men from Elgin are in the hospital with the virus, and the other two cases are at home self-isolating.

Southwestern Public Health has tested 254 people to date. 148 tests have come back negative and we are still waiting on the results for 102 tests. The region also has 29 probable cases. You can find all of this information and more online here. 

Meanwhile the Province announced today, 133 new cases of COVID-19 in Ontario. That brings the total in the Province to 967, 8 have been resolved and 18 people have died.

Help Prevent the Spread of COVID-19:

- Wash your hands with soap and water thoroughly and often.
- Cough and sneeze into your sleeve or a tissue.
- Dispose of tissue immediately and wash your hands.
- Keep surfaces clean and disinfected.
- Stay home when you are sick.
