Several units of the Brant OPP were in Burford after a 16 year old barricaded himself inside a Maple Ave home.
BURFORD - The heavy police presence in Burford has ended.
On the morning of January 25th around 9:15 a.m. the Brant OPP were called to a Maple Ave address after a distressed young man barricaded himself within the home.
The Tactical Rescue Unit, Negotiators, Canine, and Emergency Response Team were all brought to the scene to work toward a peaceful resolution.
In the early morning hours of January 26th, around 12:20 a.m., the teenager was taken into custody without injury but he was taken to hospital for a medical evaluation.
The 16 year old man is facing charges of assault with a weapon and assault. He will appear in a Brantford court at a later date.
