Construction on one of the first fueling stations in Canada that will be offering a blended fuel product should begin in the spring in Norwich.
Rural Green Energy is closer to building a new fueling station for compressed natural gas and compressed bio-methane derived from agricultural sources.
Small and large scale vehicles will be able to use the station which will be located on County Road 59 near the 401 in Woodstock. Director of Business Development for Rural Green Energy Murray Logan admits they will need large trucking companies to buy in and get the right technology to accept the new sources of fuel.
"We're lucky that we have a number of initial adapters that are willing to try the technology because they are looking to reduce their fuel cost. The other great benefit of this fuel is the carbon reduction option that it allows them to capture."
This is one of the first fueling stations in Canada that will be offering a blended fueling product. Construction should start this Spring.
