RAV4s and Lexus sedans in both Canada and the U.S. are being recalled due to an issue with the rear suspension. According to a spokesperson with Toyota, 99,000 RAV4s are being recalled in Canada while 778,000 RAV4s and Lexus cars are being recalled in United States. The issue is with the rear suspension when the nuts are not tightened properly after a wheel alignment; the arms could rust and separate from the vehicle. The RAV4 recall covers model years 2006 to 2011, while the Lexus is for the model year 2010 only. The vehicles were built in both Canada and Japan. Some of the RAV4s were manufactured at the Toyota plant in Woodstock. At this point, Toyota says nine crashes with minor injuries have been reported to them. Canadian customers affected by the recall can call 1-888-TOYOTA-8 or visit their dealership.
