Charges have officially been dropped against two of the Iron Grill explosion suspects. Crown Attorney Steve Guiller dismissed the charge of conspiracy to commit arson against 22 year-old Gajenthira Narenthira earlier today. According to Guiller, the Crown's office determined that Narenthira's involvement in the case was so minimal that there was no reason to prosecute him. On Tuesday, charges against 24 year-old Sitharthan Prabakaran were also dropped. A preliminary inquiry is scheduled for January for Osama Akter who faces charges of conspiracy to commit arson and manslaughter. The 22 year-old from Toronto was found badly burnt at the explosion with Mohammed Sarfraz. Sarfraz later died from his injuries. 22 year-old Arun Rajendiran is scheduled to appear in court in two weeks while a fifth suspect, 40 year-old Jeyakumar Shanmuganathan is believed to have fled the country after failing to appear in court November 2011. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest. The Iron Grill was destroyed by an explosion and fire in August 2009.
