A vigil will be taking place in London this evening, two years after the attack on the Afzaal family.
LONDON - It has been two years since the deadliest mass killing in the City of London's history.
On June 6th 2021, the Afzaal family was out for an evening walk when they were run down by a pickup truck.
Four people were killed; Salman Afzaal, his wife Madhia, their daughter Yumna and Salman's mother Talat Afzaal. A nine-year-old boy was the lone survivor and he sustained serious injuries.
A 20-year-old was arrested afterward and he is facing four counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder. He is set to stand trial in September and prosecutors have alleged that the attack was an act of terrorism targeting Muslims.
A vigil will be taking place in Memorial Plaza, close to Hyde Park and South Carriage Road, at 6:30 p.m. this evening and you can find more details online here.
If you are unable to attend tomorrow night's #OurLondonFamily Vigil, held at the corner of Hyde Park and South Carriage Rd., you can stream it live using the @RtvLondon link - https://t.co/UR7WwUxIYV
