Director David DeJonge says it's one of the coolest productions the school has ever had.
WOODSTOCK - It's a movie that's based on a true story and now it's a musical brought to life by the WCI RedPlayers.
Catch Me If You Can will hit the stage in the newly renovated WCI auditorium tonight, tomorrow night, Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday night.
Director David DeJonge says it's about a 17-year-old con artist and an FBI agent's determination to finally catch him.
"It's funny, it's moving, it's serious and because it's based on a true story you really get to some of the heart of the characters. It's one of the coolest things I think we've ever put on at this school."
There are 57 cast members and 25 crew members involved, with students from all high school grades involved in the show. They're also performing alongside a live orchestra.
Rendal Lackenbaur will bring the main character Frank Abagnale Jr. to life on stage.
"He's a con man who stole $2.5 million before the age of 21 posing as a doctor, a pilot, a lawyer and a teacher."
Kaiden Martin will play Brenda Strong, who has a special connection with the main character.
"She's more of a love interest to Frank. She's not sure if she can trust him at the start, but eventually he wins her over. I don't want to spoil it for you, so I can't tell you the rest!"
Katy Raymond also plays an important character in Frank's life.
"So Paula is Frank Jr's mother. She was a dancer in France as a young woman and she's described as gorgeous."
Sylvia Dennis wears a few hats in the show, being a feature dancer and playing one of the nurses.
"Being a feature dancer this year is very exciting because there are a lot of fun dance numbers to be in, made by our wonderful choreographer Victoria Bannon. I'm also playing a feature nurse which is a really fun role because are super sassy and fun to play."
Tickets for the show can be purchased online here.
David DeJonge stopped by the Heart FM studio with Rendal, Kaiden, Katy, and Sylvia on Monday December 10th. You can listen to their full interview with Dan and Marcie below:
