Woodstock's AGM is fast approaching.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Chamber of Commerce Annual General Lunch Meeting is fast approaching this month.
Things will get underway from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Quality Hotel & Suites Vansittart Room on June 27th.
General Manager, Kim Whitehead shares this years topic of the meeting.
"Our speaker Donald Wong from RBC's Cash Management Team will be speaking on mitigating fraud and cybersecurity. That's something every business should know about."
Cyber crime has surpassed the illegal drug trafficking as a criminal moneymaker. Email scams are also responsible for over $1.2 billion fraudulent payments.
Whitehead adds there will be a changing of the guards.
"We have our outgoing president, Paul Chambers, is finishing his term then and Bob Armstrong from Giant Tiger is our incoming president."
There will also be outgoing and new incoming board members and some bylaws changes that will be voted on.
