Accreditation Canada has given the Woodstock Hospital the highest accreditation possible.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Hospital has been issued the highest accreditation by Accreditation Canada.
From December 2nd to 4th, Woodstock Hospital's standards were evaluated against nationally recognized standards of excellence. The award is known as Accreditation with Exemplary Standing. Woodstock Hospital's president and CEO, Perry Lang, explains the process.
"Five surveyors were on site for three days, meeting with the various teams, evaluating our standards, and following the patient through their journey of care here at the hospital."
The three days were from December 2nd to 4th. The Accreditation team, which included a patient surveyor, engaged with the hospital's staff and toured departments to assess hospital programs, policies, and processes. Lang mentioned what accreditation means for the hospital.
"The accreditation is an independent validation that we are meeting and exceeding the standards."
During the three days, the surveyors looked at Commitment to People-Centred Care, Exceptional Teamwork, Exemplary Use of Metrics and Data, and Community Collaboration. These areas were determined to be key strengths for the hospital.
Going forward, Woodstock Hospital will look to continue building on its success and continue to prioritize safe, high-quality, and people-centred care for not only the residents of Friendly City but also those of Oxford County.
