Woodstock Police are investigating a number of thefts that occurred in the city over the weekend. On Saturday night, police received a report of a theft of a golf cart from the Sally Creek Golf Course. Police say around 9:30 pm a battery powered blue Club Car with the decals "Sally Creek Cart #9" was taken from the business. There are no suspect descriptions in this case. Police say materials from a construction zone near Huron Park Secondary School were taken some time between August 16th and 17th. In this case, many pieces of the equipment have also been damaged in the past few weeks. And Saturday evening around 6:25 pm a man on Hay Street was approached by a vehicle with four occupants. After asking for directions they discussed gold rings and chains they had for sale in their van. The man removed his chain to try on of their items. One of the occupants in the back of the van offered to hold his chain while he tried on the other, at which time the van sped off with the victim's property. Police say they are looking for a tan Chevrolet Van, possibly a 2005 model. The four suspects are only described as being of East Indian descent. Anyone with information on any of these incidents is asked to call Woodstock Police at 519-537-2323 or Crime Stoppers at 539-421-TIPS (8477).
