The Woodstock Police Service has responded to 10 different opioid overdoses since February 13th.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Police Service is reporting a rise in opioid-related overdoses.
Officers have responded to 10 different overdose reports since February 13th and they administered up to eight doses of naloxone during those calls.
Woodstock Police say the symptoms of an opioid overdose include the following:
- Slow, weak, or no breathing.
- Drowsiness or difficulty staying awake.
- Difficulty waking up.
- Choking, gurgling, or snoring noises.
- Blue lips or nails.
- Dizziness.
If you believe someone is experiencing an overdose, you should call 911 and administer naloxone immediately.
