Ben Addley has been serving as Oxford County's Interim CAO since September, and he will step into the role permanently tomorrow.
OXFORD COUNTY - It's official, Oxford County has a new Chief Administrative Officer.
Ben Addley will officially become our next CAO tomorrow. He had been filling in on an interim basis ever since former CAO Michael Duben resigned in September.
Addley had served as Oxford County's Director/Chief of Paramedic Services beforehand, so the county will now begin a recruitment process to fill that position. Ryan Hall, the Deputy Chief and Manager of Operations and Performance, has been handling all of the Director duties since September.
Warden Marcus Ryan says County Council is excited to continue working with Addley.
“County Council has set an ambitious agenda for the next four years and we are confident in Ben’s ability to lead the County as an organization through this work. Council had an opportunity to work with Ben through the 2023 budget, a responsible and strategic planning process that afforded Council the flexibility to invest an additional $1.2 million in affordable housing. As the incumbent, his appointment allows us to move ahead quickly on our goals for 2023 and beyond. He has a track record of strong relationships with our local community and government partners, and he understands the organization’s strengths, services, and people. We are excited to work with Ben towards a vision of Oxford County that supports quality of life for all.”
Addley has been working with the county since 2016. During that time he served on the board of directors for the Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs. He also helped launch the community paramedicine program and he oversaw Oxford's first hybrid ambulances going into service.
Before moving to Oxford, Addley served as the Deputy Chief of Paramedic Operations for Peel Region.
