More and more potentially life saving AEDs are being installed to honour the memory of a 15 year old young man.
AEDs are popping up all over Oxford County thanks to Andrew's Legacy.
After the tragic loss of 15 year old Andrew Stoddart, a charity was set up to honour his memory. Andrew collapsed at a soccer field in Kintore, and it's thought that an AED on site may have increased his odds of survival.
Since then, Andrew's Mom Cara Schmidt says the community has really come together to support their cause.
"We've placed, to date, 22 AEDs. We started at mainly the soccer fields where Andrew played soccer and which are rural communities. So we have Shakespeare, Mitchell, Kintore. We donated one last weekend to River Valley Tubing in Saint Mary's."
All three elementary schools in Zorra Township have the life saving devices now.
Schmidt is deeply moved by the support.
"I am so proud. I am so proud to be Andrew's mom and that Andrew's life was such a good life and even in his death he can help somebody."
