Council for the Township of Zorra will vote on the Strategic Plan today at their council meeting. Last week they hosted a couple of open houses for the public to offer feedback on the plan in Embro and Zorra.
ZORRA TOWNSHIP - The Township of Zorra had some great feedback on their Strategic Plan last week.
Residents were invited to two sessions in Embro and Thamesford. Mayor Marcus Ryan says the plan offers specific ways to enhance the Township.
"Council has been preparing this strategic plan for months now, last week we held public meetings in Embro and Thamesford to update them on the plan and where it is currently at. We had a lot of really constructive input at both locations, a lot of it was really just trying to understand what Council is trying to achieve on our Strategic Plan."
Ryan says the Zorra strategic plan is different than others because it includes very specific action items on ways to improve the Township.
"So while we say we want to be economically prosperous, every municipality wants to be economically prosperous, ours has specific action items in there that council is proposing that we can achieve in the short, medium or long term that we think can directly contribute to being economically prosperous. Development of existing undeveloped lands or redevelopment of underdeveloped lands, things like that. Residents gave us a lot of input on their concerns and how they think they may fit into that strategic plan in terms of actual action items and not just a wish list."
The strategic plan is available online and Ryan says he hopes council will approve it at their meeting today. You can read the strategic plan online here.
