A suspect has been arrested after the Independent Grocer in Ingersoll was robbed by a man with a knife.
A man has been arrested in connection with a robbery at The Independent Grocer in Ingersoll.
On September 17th a man entered the store, placed several items into a cart and then left the store without paying. When employees of the store followed the man into the parking lot and asked him to return to the store the man threatened the two employees with a knife. The suspect then fled into a vehicle. While fleeing, the man struck a parked car but did not stop.
Police arrested a suspect without incident on Sunday, September 20th. 29 year old Tyler Binns of Woodstock is charged with theft under $5 000, robbery with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of property obtained by crime under $5 000, escape lawful custody, and fail to comply with a probation order.
The man is being held in custody for a bail hearing on September 21.
