The Vets, the Braves and the Trojans each had three games over the weekend, while the Merchants had two.
PJHL - The Woodstock Navy Vets had a great start to the weekend, but the best ending.
They doubled the Hespeler Shamrocks 6-3 on Friday where Owen Ireton scored his 30th goal of the season. He is the first player to do so since Mike Stevenson in 1999.
The Vets also shutout the Paris Titans 3-0 on Saturday, with Tyler Bouck made 33 saves in the net and recording his division-leading 4th shutout of the season.
However, Woodstock did suffer a 5-4 loss to the New Hamburg Firebirds in overtime yesterday. The Vets were down 4-2 but managed to score two goals late in the third period to force overtime.
The Tavistock Braves won all of their games over the weekend; 4-2 over the Wellesley Applejacks on Friday, 3-2 in overtime over the Dorchester Dolphins on Saturday, and 4-2 over Paris yesterday.
The Norwich Merchants only had two games where they demolished Paris 8-2 on Friday and crushed Hespeler 5-2 yesterday.
The Navy Vets sit on top of the Doherty Division standings with 55 points. They're followed by the Braves with 50 points, the Applejacks with 48 points, the Firebirds with 47 points, and the Merchants with 45 points. The Shamrocks lead the bottom three with 30 points, ahead of the Titans with 25 points and the Dolphins with 21 points.
Over in the Yeck Division, the Thamesford Trojans crushed the Lucan Irish 8-3 on Friday before they battled the Mount Brydges Bulldogs in a double header on Saturday. Thamesford won the first game 2-1 in overtime, but Mount Brydges won the second with a final score of 6-5 also in overtime.
The Trojans are tied with the Exeter Hawks for third place in the Yeck Division standings with 46 points each. The Bulldogs sit in second place with 47 points and the Petrolia Flyers sit on top of the division with 50 points.
