The OPP has some reminders for ATV operators in Oxford County.
OXFORD COUNTY - It is National ATV Safety Week.
Oxford OPP are going to be a part of an initiative to make sure the residents of the County are enjoying their ATV's in a safe and sober manner. The OPP are sending reminders to riders that their ATV must be registered, display a licence plate and insured under a motor vehicle liability policy.
Police are also making sure each rider is riding according to the trail, road and weather conditions, using caution when turning, crossing, climbing and descending hills, driving sober, riding in designated areas only, respecting the environment, and keeping noise levels down.
If you are unsure of where you can ride your ATV, you can click here to find a complete list of provincial highways where off-road vehicles are and are not allowed. When it comes to municipal roadways, you can click here to find out all the information.
If you are wanting more information about ATV safety, you can check the Ontario Federation of All Terrain Vehicles website, or the Government of Ontario website.
The week began on May 30th, and will end this Sunday, and the OPP want to make sure you enjoy operating your ATV by staying safe.
#OxfordOPP wants to highlight All-Terrain Vehicle safety during #ATVSafetyAwarenessWeek that runs from May 30-June 8 2025. Please, everyone in @OxfordCounty, operate your ATV #safeandsober #lawfully and #considerately
