BBBS Oxford is looking for mentors, and are talking about their school programs as they gear up for another school year.
OXFORD COUNTY - Big Brothers Big Sisters is looking to engage more with all communities in Oxford County.
BBBS Oxford is already thinking about back to school and how it is the perfect time to become a mentor. Volunteer Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator Erica Hughes outlines the programs gearing up for September.
"We have our in-school mentoring program, we also have our go-girls game on or all play group programming and then we also have a really special new teen literacy program along with an adult literacy program so there are four different options."
Hughes talks about what they are looking for in a mentor and how many kids are on the waitlist.
"We have about 130 kids on the waitlist right now. We are looking for people that really just are genuine human beings that really just want to become a friend with a young person and make that impact in their life."
Those looking to become a member can do so by visiting the Big Brothers Big Sisters Oxford website. Also, if you want to listen to the full interview with Erica Hughes from the Heart FM Morning Show you can below.
